That is a sweet little coincidence, it can happen that way. In any case, we are borderless neighbors here on SS which always boggles the mind --how we can all connect and weave in and out of conversation as if standing over a fence in our back yards--no matter what the distance or country...I notice that you are in MX, am I correct?
What a beautifully woven reflection — I love how you connect personal genealogy with the larger historical and cultural context, and your call for a “fresh history” rooted in reciprocity feels both timely and inspiring.
This essay is great. I've been doing a lot of genealogical research and wondering how to write the stories of those I've discovered, and you've provided such a fun, creative example. Thank you!
Thanks, Daria- this was inspired by Beth's prompt on specificity and making a list. I was in the middle of all things genealogical so thought, why not? Give it a shot and post it, I'd love to see it!
What a thoughtful piece, and how fascinating to know such details
Aloha Hardy sister! I so appreciate your divulging most of the Hardy roots i am not aware of..great job!!
Thank you! The long thread raises so many more questions. We can weave our dreams together next visit!
How fun to think about your ancestors' adventures. You have such deep roots, and what a gift to discover them.
Our roots are a deep part of us--and we share the curiosity of adventure. Anything might turn up!

Ahh that's a lovely way to put it. And yep I'm in Mexico. :)
